The True & Fair Party (“True & Fair”) today announces that the Leader and Executive Board of the Renew Party (“Renew”), has agreed that Renew’s operations will merge into True & Fair.
Renew’s members will be invited to join True & Fair to support True & Fair’s mission to clean up politics, improve standards in public life and policy making, and implement a fairer and more representative voting system.
Gina Miller commented: “There are a huge number of people in the UK who feel politically homeless and have little trust in the existing political parties. They want the opportunity to support, vote for, and join a political party based on integrity and principles, and honestly represents the interests of ordinary people.
“Our values, principles and aims align with Renew’s and as such they have decided that True & Fair is the right home for them. We are delighted to welcome the Renew Team on board, especially as there is a serious and sensible need for like-minded organisation and individuals to work under one banner.
“Given yesterday’s scenes of a floundering Prime Minister, seeking to spin and bluster his way out of serious trouble, the need for significant changes to accountability in public life has never been clearer. True and Fair are the only party making serious proposals to ensure that politicians, however senior, can be brought to book for misconduct.”
“Since launch, we have been inundated by expressions of interest and, over the coming months, we look forward to welcoming many more new colleagues, members, and funders into our Party to achieve the much-needed change our country and democracy urgently needs to ensure a better future.”
James Clarke commented: “This is a great step forward for Renew and all our supporters, activists and candidates who have devoted their time, energy and passion over the last four years. By joining forces with True & Fair, we will be able to make a much bigger impact by aligning our aim of offering an authentic, genuine and credible alternative to the old established parties.
Root and branch reform of the UK political system is long overdue, and the appetite for change is colossal. It’s time for something new.”
