Politicians need to start talking about the Brexit disaster, the Rejoin EU Party says after a parliamentary petition to re-join the EU surged above the 100,000-signature threshold needed to trigger a Westminster debate.
The petition, which has gained significant momentum in the last few weeks and has now topped 114,000 signatures and rising, shows the widespread and increasing dissatisfaction with the economic and political damage caused by the UK's exit from the EU.
Keir Starmer and the Labour government would be foolish to ignore the growing clamour to re-join as rising costs and ballooning red tape hit consumers and businesses in the pocket, Rejoin EU says.
Rejoin EU Party leader Brendan Donnelly said: “Slowly but surely, the Brexit edifice is falling apart. How long will Starmer and his followers keep pretending that Brexit can be made to work? Brexit is a a failure that should be reversed as soon as possible.
“Voters can increase the pressure on the government to think again by voting for the Rejoin EU Party in today's Barnet council ward by-election in Burnt Oak and other forthcoming by-elections.”

The Rejoin EU Party is campaigning to re-join the EU because we believe re-joining is the only way to solve the multiple problems Brexit has created. Brexit is broken and it’s breaking our country too. All the promises on which Brexit was sold to the electorate in 2016 were nonsense. Far from reducing red tape and providing £350m a week for the NHS, Brexit makes trading with the crucial European market more complex, difficult and expensive and threatens to reduce funding for public services. If you agree Brexit is making our country poorer, less tolerant and less united, join us and send a message to Westminster that you want your EU membership back, with all its freedoms and benefits.
