Stand as a Rejoin EU Party candidate to help fix the UK economy by re-joining the EU

Dear all,

The Rejoin EU Party aims to revive the UK’s struggling economy and restore its political influence by getting us back in the EU. Central to that is putting pressure on Labour and Keir Starmer to accept Brexit isn’t working and to re-join the single market, customs union and EU. We believe the best way to do that is by winning seats at Westminster and on local councils.

Labour lost last month’s Runcorn & Helsby by-election to Nigel Farage's Reform UK by just six votes – but if it had had a more pro-EU policy, maybe some of the 100-plus pro-EU voters who backed the Rejoin EU Party in that by-election would have supported Labour instead, enabling it to win. Of course, Farage and Reform weren’t offering anything positive – but they won because Labour also isn’t offering a positive alternative, especially on the EU.

We don't want a Farage government with all the Trump-style chaos that would bring – but we don't believe we should give Labour a free pass to do whatever it wants either, particularly when it has a large parliamentary majority, up to four more years in power and is effectively continuing to back the Tories’ hard Brexit.

We believe we can use mid-term by-elections to make Labour think again on Europe, if necessary by causing it to lose seats to us or other pro-EU parties. To do this, we need candidates to stand in local by-elections across the country, to send a ballot-box message to Starmer that pandering to Farage and lurching to the right is not the answer and that the only way to significantly boost the economy is to re-join.

If you would like to stand in a by-election, check out this list here to see if you’ve got an election coming up in your area, tell us you would like to stand by emailing us at admin@therejoineuparty.com and we’ll be in touch with guidance on how to proceed.

The deadline for registering to stand in a by-election can often be several weeks ahead of the election itself, so we recommend that if you're interested in standing, you contact your local council’s electoral-services department and ask them to notify you of any forthcoming contests, so you don’t miss the deadline. They may or may not agree to do this, but it’s worth a try. You can also check on upcoming elections by visiting the “My next election” page on the Electoral Commission’s website here.

Finally, we need funds to meet the cost of campaign basics such as leaflets, posters etc, so please donate to our by-election campaign fund or become a supporter by clicking on the button below.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Thanks and kind regards,

The Rejoin EU Party
