Talks between Irish foreign minister and UK counterpart announced amid change in ‘mood music’

Simon Coveney, the Irish foreign minister, is flying into London for talks with his UK counterpart, James Cleverly, as hopes rise of an outline deal to end the bitter dispute over the Northern Ireland Brexit arrangements within weeks.

Talks at official level will start on Thursday afternoon by video link before a working dinner between the two foreign secretaries.
